The performance of Rory Rachuba proved critical in helping Binghamton beat Richmond, 11-4. The Mets catcher was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. With the win over Richmond, the Mets improved to 64-68.

In the top of the fifth, Frenk Beltman delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Binghamton third baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Mets in front, 11-4.

"We hit the ball hard," said Binghamton manager Matt Young. "Line drive after line drive."
