Zamora Delivers Walk-Off Win for Fightin Phils
|
Starting pitcher Matt Knowlton gave the Reading Fightin Phils a rock-solid effort. The St. Paul, Minnesota native helped his team defeat the Hartford Yard Goats, 2-1, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Reading pitcher David Adams got the win. He's now 2-0. Ross Smolnik was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Reading sits at 62-71, while Hartford falls to 70-63.
Bobby Zamora was the walk-off hero for Reading. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fightin Phils right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Zamora.
