Flying Squirrels Beat Fisher Cats, 5-2
|
Behind an impressive start by Joe Novinger, Richmond beat New Hampshire, 5-2. Charlie Fleet got credit for the save for Richmond. It was his 31st of the year. The Flying Squirrels now have a record of 80-53.
Richmond relied on the hitting of Sergio Bravo to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the second inning to put the Flying Squirrels on top, 3-0. For the game, Bravo had 1 triple and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Richmond skipper Matt Bent.
