Late Rally by Thunder Secures 5-2 Win
The Trenton Thunder beat the Hartford Yard Goats, 5-2, at New Britain Stadium. Trenton second baseman Alex Caceres led the way. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jeff Tinch earned his 10th save in 12 chances. The last-place Thunder have won 5 consecutive games.

It could have been a different outcome for Trenton, had it not been for Ben Townsend, the 25-year old center fielder . Townsend contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Trenton up, 4-2.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Trenton manager Pat Gilman. "Our pregame was pretty good."
