Reading pitcher Dusty Wiedemann did his part in helping his team beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Wiedemann, now 8-10, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 12, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Jeremy Duffy, credited with the save, is now 10 for 13 in save opportunities.

Carlos Medina drew 1 walk for Reading. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Randy Cron. It was his 17th RBI of the season.

"The guys seem happy with the win. That's good, I guess," said Wiedemann.
