Akron Sent Home with 4-2 Loss
Canal Park was the site for Eastern League action featuring the Akron RubberDucks and Richmond Flying Squirrels.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels beat the Akron RubberDucks, 4-2. Richmond pitcher and Jersey City, New Jersey, native Warren Renna led the way. Jose Aguilar was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities.

Richmond went in front, 4-2, on Chad McKinney's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which McKinney hit in the top of the eighth, left Akron pitcher Justin Horne visibly perturbed.

Richmond manager Fernando Melendez praised his team's "businesslike approach."

Richmond is now 63-71.
