The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Altoona fans at People's Natural Gas Field.

Ben Lyon pitched well, but his team, the Binghamton Mets, still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Altoona Curve at People's Natural Gas Field. The winner in relief was Adan Cardenas. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 9-4. Jose Oscal got the save, his 11th in 13 chances.

The Curve got a big at-bat from center fielder Dave Romero. For the game, Romero was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Altoona a 2-1 lead.

"Big team win," Romero said later.

The defeat makes Binghamton 67-67.
