Curve Get Past Akron for 11-10 Win
Ben Mountford had a good game, but he could not keep the Akron RubberDucks from falling, 11-10, to the Altoona Curve at People's Natural Gas Field. The Akron shortstop was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 in the loss. Jay Badeau earned the save, his 3rd, for the Curve. The Curve, at 54-82, sit in 5th place in the Southern Division.

Altoona took the lead, 11-10, on Brent McClendon's 12th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Akron pitcher Lee Clark in the bottom of the eighth.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," McClendon told the Altoona News.
