Binghamton Rallies for 6-1 Victory
|
The Binghamton Mets picked up a win at NYSEG Stadium, taking down the Reading Fightin Phils, 6-1. Starting pitcher Cesar Almonte was a big reason why. The Mets now have a mark of 76-61.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Wei-kang Lu came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Reading pitcher Jose Ibanez, he hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Binghamton on top, 3-1.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Almonte.
