Late Offense Lifts Portland to 5-4 Victory
|
Despite a great performance by Altoona center fielder Francisco Rivas, the Portland Sea Dogs defeated the Curve by the score of 5-4 at Hadlock Field. Rivas went 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Sea Dogs, at 65-72, sit in 4th place in the Northern Division.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Portland trailing 4-3, Bobby Parra hit a curveball from Jose Oscal to right-center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Sea Dogs had a walk-off win.
"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Parra.
