Due in large part to designated hitter Wei-qian Wen, the Altoona Curve sunk the Akron RubberDucks, 7-6. Wen was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. The win belonged to Curt Wilbur in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Lee Clark took the loss for Akron. The Curve raised their record to 55-83.

Tomas Voivodic was the walk-off hero for Altoona. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Curve second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Voivodic said.
