Led by David Torres, the Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 6-4. Torres went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times for the Yard Goats. With the victory, the Yard Goats record stands at 83-56.

The Yard Goats got a big hit from third baseman Ricardo Rodriguez. Facing Richmond pitcher Ramon Pensotti in the bottom of the fifth, Rodriguez pounded a bases-clearing double to center. His 21st double of the season put the Yard Goats ahead, 5-4.

"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Rodriguez told the Hartford Observer.
