Kirk Wharton, who is tied for 10th in the EL with a 7.6 K/9 rate, was locked in. The right-hander led the Trenton Thunder to a 4-3 win against the Binghamton Mets at Arm & Hammer Park. Trenton bumps their record to 60-80 with the win.

The Thunder got a big at-bat from second baseman Alex Caceres. For the game, Caceres was 1-3 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Trenton a 3-0 lead.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Binghamton manager Mike Keeney.
