Yard Goats Defeated, 7-4, After Richmond Rallies
The Richmond Flying Squirrels battled the Hartford Yard Goats into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Flying Squirrels won it, finally, 7-4, in 11 innings. In the game, Richmond second baseman John Barlow was 2 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Manny Trevino, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The Flying Squirrels, at 63-77, sit in 4th place in the Northern Division.

Richmond used the timely hitting of Juan Mateos to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Flying Squirrels on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Barlow.
