Fisher Cats Collect 5-4 Win Over Flying Squirrels
|
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats faced a tough opponent in Richmond pitcher Brian McQuain, but found a way to pull out the victory at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. McQuain went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. By defeating Richmond, the 4th-place Fisher Cats improved to 77-63.
The decisive blow was delivered by Tony Sauceda in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Nick Woods to win the game for New Hampshire. The home crowd went nuts.
"This game tested our mettle," said Sauceda.
