Timmons Pops Two Homers in 6-1 Win for Syracuse
|
The 6-1 Syracuse win over Buffalo was due in large part to Jason Timmons. The Chiefs first baseman belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Syracuse reliever Ivan Linares picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jesus Rueda was saddled with the loss. Syracuse is now 15-17.
Early in the game, Timmons had a 3-run home run for Syracuse. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Chiefs on top, 3-0.
"It's not about individual awards," Timmons told a Syracuse Observer reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
