Fans of the Spokane Indians who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Spokane win over the visiting Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels, 6-3. David Shea started for the home team against Darius Brown. David Shea earned accolades for his performance.

Drew O'Laughlin had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the third for Spokane. With the bases loaded and the Indians leading 1-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"David mixed and matched," said Spokane manager Adam Leporati.
