Rangers Go Down to Defeat, 4-2

The Helena Brewers took Texas (Rk+) pitcher Victor Torres's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Black Diamonds Ballpark. The final score had Helena getting past the Rangers, 4-2. Torres went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. David Barragan got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 9 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Kyle Lowe recorded the save, his 1st.
Helena used the timely hitting of Ricky Tapia to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Brewers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort," said Tapia after the game.
With the win, Helena goes to 6-2.
