Rangers Defeat Guardians, 7-3
|
Mario Castellanos was a vital contributor to the 7-3 Texas (Rk+) victory over Cleveland (Rk+). The Rangers center fielder was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Texas (Rk+) reliever Sa'ng Ng picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Carlos de Anda shouldered the loss. The save was credited to Manuel Curiel, his 1st.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from shortstop Jimmy Knowles. For the game, Knowles was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Texas (Rk+) a 3-1 lead.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Texas (Rk+) skipper Jimmy Terrell.
Texas (Rk+) is off to a hot start at 8-1.
