Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Toledo Mud Hens take on the Gwinnett Braves.

The Gwinnett Braves had to reckon with Toledo Mud Hens hurler Ernie Lowery. Lowery overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-1 Mud Hens triumph. Alex Cofer earned the save for Toledo, his 8th of the year.

With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Andy Alford had a game-changing hit. The Mud Hens second baseman slammed a 2-run single off Tony Pomares, making the score 4-1, Toledo.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Alford told the Toledo Times.

The third-place Mud Hens have won 5 consecutive games.
