Bisons Score Late, Upend IronPigs, 3-1
|
Lehigh Valley got a decent performance from pitcher Victor Flores, but it wasn't enough to beat the Buffalo Bisons. Buffalo won the Coca-Cola Park contest, 3-1. Flores threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Gene Kaiser snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Victor Flores suffered the loss. The second-place Bisons now have a win-loss record of 18-16.
Buffalo used a timely hit from Tim Gregory to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bisons ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Buffalo skipper Casey Bac.
