Hustle Suffer 5-1 Setback
The Portland Tigers went home winners at Hackers Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Kenny Treacy. Treacy stifled the Las Vegas (Rk+) Hustle, enabling Portland to grab the 5-1 win. The win was credited to 21-year old right-handed pitcher Adam Simmons in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Luis Serrano took the loss. Tim Wood closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Chris Snider was at the plate when Portland scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Tigers to go in front, 2-1.

"I thought we played a nice game," Snider told the Portland Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Today's win puts Portland at 29-15, while Las Vegas (Rk+) falls to 8-38.
