The Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels had to overcome a good performance from Eugene pitcher Mike Wallace to claim a 3-2 win at Oxnard Grounds. Wallace went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The loss has the Emeralds at 6-2.
The knockout blow came in the bottom of the 11th inning. That's when pinch hitter John Krall stepped to the plate with a runner on 2nd and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Eugene manager Eddie Rangel.
