Steven Floyd, who is tied for 8th in the IL in complete games with 1, pitched well, but the Charlotte Knights still fell short, losing, 4-1, to the Indianapolis Indians at BB&T Stadium. Marcelino Ramires picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-0 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 0 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 1 run. Tim Knowles earned the save for Indianapolis, his 5th.
Indianapolis used a clutch at-bat from Sam Garrett to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Indians ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Garrett told the Indianapolis Chronicle.
Indianapolis is now 23-11.
