Minnesota (SS-A) and Los Angeles A (SS-A) duked it out and the Twins came out victorious.

The Minnesota (SS-A) Twins took Los Angeles A (SS-A) pitcher Dennis Borrello's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lancaster Grounds. The final score had Minnesota (SS-A) getting past the Angels, 3-0. Borrello went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 6. Felix Luis, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2.

Juan Gomez had a big 2-run home run for the Twins in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Minnesota (SS-A) leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Dennis Borrello and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 3-0.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Gomez.

With the win, Minnesota (SS-A) improves its record to 4-4.
