Raptors Win Streak Now at 7 After 2-1 Victory
|
In a tight tilt between Ogden and Las Vegas (Rk+), pitcher Jose Ramirez was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 2-1 Raptors win. Ramirez, now 5-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Picking up the save was Dallas Nash, his 8th.
The Hustle had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Raptors going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old center fielder David Nelson came to the plate. Nelson hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Las Vegas (Rk+) hurler Dusty Moore. It was Nelson's 3rd double of the year.
Ramirez told reporters after the game: "Runs were at a premium, so a good win for us."
The win makes Ogden 22-4.
