Ballpark of Fremont was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Eugene Emeralds and Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers.

The Eugene Emeralds knocked off the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers, 5-4, in Northwest League action at Ballpark of Fremont. Eugene pitcher and Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, native Frank Casillas had an outstanding performance. Chris Herrera snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season.

Curt Everett went 1-4 with a walk for Eugene. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Marc Halliwell. It was his 5th RBI of the season.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Everett said.

Eugene, now 7-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
