The rain came, as predicted, but the Portland Tigers and Helena Brewers were able to complete their ballgame.

The Helena Brewers got a sterling performance from pitcher Chris Fox, but the Portland Tigers still prevailed, 6-5. Fox threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The last-place Tigers are now 10-17, the Brewers 20-6.

Had Andres Velazquez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Velazquez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Tigers.

"Good win for us," said Velazquez. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
