Portland Tigers pitcher Willie Ochoa was in top form, leading his team past the Washington (Rk+) Nationals, 3-0. At 14-13, the Tigers are currently third in the South.

Jay Kelly had a big run-scoring double for the Tigers in the top of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Glen Townley and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 2-0.

"Willie was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Portland manager Allen Franklin.
