Senators Come Up Short at Erie, 2-1
The Erie SeaWolves eked out a 2-1 win versus the Harrisburg Senators at Jerry Uht Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Jake Melton. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Melton, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. The Senators, 4-7, continue their poor start to the 2112 campaign.

The SeaWolves got a big at-bat from center fielder Steve Bruno. For the game, Bruno went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Erie a 2-1 lead.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Erie manager Frank Hennessy said.
