Lake County pitcher Ryan DiPonio had a large part in his team subduing the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The loss makes Bowling Green 0-2.

Lake County used a well-timed hit by Larry Seiger to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Captains ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Lake County skipper Garrett Holt.
