RoughRiders Win at Arkansas, 4-3
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Dickey-Stephens Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2098 Texas League season. On the mound was Eric Hanold for the visiting Frisco RoughRiders and Bob Crisp for the hometown Arkansas Travelers. In a spirited contest, the RoughRiders pulled out the win, defeating the Travelers by the score of 4-3. Especially impressive was Bob Crisp. Eric Hanold got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings. The save was credited to Estêvão Ano, his 1st.
Frisco used a clutch hit from Dallas Zancanella to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the RoughRiders ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Zancanella said his team "played with focus."
