The Midland RockHounds faced a tough opponent in Northwest Arkansas pitcher Miguel Mora, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Security Bank Ballpark by a final score of 6-2. Mora went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The loss drops Northwest Arkansas to 1-1.

Midland got a clutch hit from Mike Plancich. The third baseman launched a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

Plancich attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
