Missions Send Springfield Home with 3-1 Loss
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Springfield Cardinals and San Antonio Missions get after it.
The San Antonio Missions topped the Springfield Cardinals, 3-1, in Texas League action at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Antonio pitcher Mike Kremer. The winning pitcher was Kremer, now 1-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5.
David Swenson contributed to the San Antonio win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Swenson told the San Antonio Observer. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
The win lifts San Antonio to a record of 3-5.
