Travelers Deal Missions 3-1 Setback
|
Arkansas Travelers starter Matt Hamel was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the San Antonio Missions, 3-1. Hamel, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. Arkansas sits at 3-7.
Arkansas used a timely hit from John Phillips to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Travelers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Phillips.
