Cardinals Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win

The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
Springfield Cardinals starter Ryan Foster pitched a strong game against the Midland RockHounds at Hammons Field, leading the Cardinals to victory, 4-3. Springfield reliever Matt Helsen picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Chad Pierce was tagged with the loss.
Mark Davidson helped out the Springfield cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Davidson.
Midland, at 3-9, is off to a poor start in 2111.
