A good performance from designated hitter Jessie Richard helped the Corpus Christi Hooks defeat the San Antonio Missions, 9-6. Richard went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Hooks. Mike Miller picked up the save, his 2nd. The win takes Corpus Christi to 5-8.

Corpus Christi took the lead, 8-5, on Andres Pulido's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off San Antonio pitcher Bobby Isom in the bottom of the seventh.

"Jessie was ready to go. Big day for him," said Corpus Christi manager Ivan Cruz.
