Hooks Tag Missions with 8-4 Loss
|
It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Hooks fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.
The Corpus Christi Hooks picked up a win, 8-4, over the San Antonio Missions at Whataburger Field. Ricky Iraheta led the charge. The La Vega native went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for Corpus Christi. Joel Robinson picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-0 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 3 in 5 innings, while yielding 3 runs.
Tony Montoya hit a 2-run double off Ken Miller in the bottom of the first, which put the Hooks in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Montoya had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Corpus Christi skipper Milt Frankland.
Corpus Christi goes to 8-6.
