Binghamton starter Mike Sloan pitched well against the Richmond Flying Squirrels at The Diamond. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Gavin Jones picked up the save for Binghamton, his 1st of the year. Richmond is 6-5 after the defeat.

Binghamton used a well-timed hit by Rich Schweitzer to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Schweitzer told the Binghamton Observer.
