The Midland RockHounds and Frisco RoughRiders provided some drama for the home crowd.

Frisco picked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, bumping off the Midland RockHounds, 5-4. Pitcher Dan Pyne was a major reason the RoughRiders emerged victorious. Pyne got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 9 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Pyne allowed 3 runs. Estêvão Ano closed the game out for Frisco, earning his 2nd save.

Ryan O'Neal dealt the RockHounds a blow in the top of the second. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Frisco leading 4-0, O'Neal, who is tied for 10th in the TEX with a .939 OPS, hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.

"If we keep winning the close games," Pyne said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."

Midland falls to 6-9.
