In a low-scoring affair between the San Antonio Missions and the Frisco RoughRiders, pitcher Tom Ruoff was the difference between victory and defeat. The San Antonio right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Missions win. Ruoff picked up the win for San Antonio, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Getting the save was Lance Corzine, his 1st.

The RoughRiders had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Missions going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old left fielder Nick Spielman came to the plate. Spielman hit a 3-run home run on a 2-2 fastball from Frisco hurler Dan Pyne. It was Spielman's 4th home run of the year.

"Winning is contagious," said Ruoff. "We're looking forward to the next game."

San Antonio has a record of 9-7.
