Win Makes San Antonio 8-8

The San Antonio Missions downed the Corpus Christi Hooks, 3-0, at Whataburger Field. San Antonio pitcher Erik Rice definitely brought his A-game. Rice, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing no runs. San Antonio has a record of 8-8.
R.J. Correll, who leads the TEX in bases on balls with 10, had a direct impact on the outcome. Correll contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put San Antonio up, 2-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Corpus Christi skipper Ka-fei Ong, "and it cost us."
