Missions LF Jackson goes 3-for-4 in Win
|
The Frisco RoughRiders and San Antonio Missions delighted fans at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.
The 4-RBI night of first baseman Jerry Jackson, who is tied for 8th in the TEX in bases on balls with 8, helped the San Antonio Missions triumph, 8-2, over the Frisco RoughRiders. Shamel Nevins, the winning pitcher, is now 2-3. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 1.
Jackson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Antonio in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Jackson took a curveball from Rich Alva and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Missions to leap in front, 3-1.
"I wish every win came this easy," said Jackson.
With the loss, Frisco falls to 10-7.
