RockHounds Come Up Short at Frisco, 2-1

Frisco RoughRiders starter Kyle Travers turned in a top-notch performance against the Midland RockHounds at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. The result was a win for the RoughRiders, 2-1. Mike Nunn closed the door for Frisco, picking up his 4th save of the year. The RockHounds, now 6-12, continue their slow start.
With scoring opportunities rare, the RoughRiders had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when catcher Johnny Kirby hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Andy Ash and made the score 2-0, RoughRiders. Kirby was 1 for 3.
"Good ballgame," said Midland manager Jay Mizrahi. "But we came up on the short end."
