Corpus Christi Hooks starter Max Galvez kept the Midland RockHounds hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-1 win. Midland, with the loss, is 8-13.

Aaron Hutchinson had a big run-scoring double for the Hooks in the bottom of the second inning. With Corpus Christi leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Thompson and swatted a double to left. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hooks ahead, 2-0.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Corpus Christi skipper Ivan Cruz.
