Springfield Bats Cold in 5-0 Loss
|
Thanks in large part to left fielder Frank Gomez, the Tulsa Drillers beat the Springfield Cardinals, 5-0. Gomez was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Cardinals fall to 7-14 and continue their sub-.500 start to the 2109 season.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Gomez hit a 2-run home run off Tony Wise. It propelled the Drillers into the lead, 2-0.
Afterward, Springfield manager Tom King said: "We've hit a rough patch."
