Midland Sends Corpus Christi Packing with 3-2 Loss
The Midland RockHounds earned a win at Whataburger Field, knocking off the Corpus Christi Hooks, 3-2. On the bump for Midland was right-hander Cory Brunner. He had a starring role in the triumph. Brunner, the winner, moves to 2-3. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 5 walks. The Hooks fall to 11-15 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Joe Harbin, who is tied for 8th in the TEX with a .521 slugging percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Harbin contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Midland up, 3-0.

"It's a mindset," said Brunner. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
