Behind a solid performance from center fielder Ryan O'Neal, the Frisco RoughRiders defeated the Corpus Christi Hooks, 5-4. O'Neal was 4 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs for the RoughRiders. Michael Gruber got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Getting the save was Estêvão Ano, his 4th.

Frisco used the timely hitting of Dallas Zancanella to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the RoughRiders on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," O'Neal told the Frisco News.

Frisco, now 16-10, has played well in the early going.
