Cardinals Stay Hot With 10-4 Win
The Springfield Cardinals defeated the Arkansas Travelers, 10-4, in Texas League action at Hammons Field. Springfield pitcher Xavier Clayton had a standout performance. The defeat makes Arkansas 13-15.

Mike Coffin had a big 2-run double for the Cardinals in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Springfield leading 5-4 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Isiah Howard and swatted a double to right. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cardinals ahead, 7-4.

"Xavier was in tempo tonight," said Springfield skipper Tom King.
