Hooks Drop RoughRiders, 3-2
|
In a tight contest between the Corpus Christi Hooks and the Frisco RoughRiders, Mike Gardner was the determining factor. The Corpus Christi right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. With the win, the Hooks have a record of 16-13.
The Hooks got a big at-bat from second baseman Devon Beck. For the game, Beck went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Corpus Christi a 2-1 lead.
"I felt good even in the late innings," said Gardner after the game.
