RockHounds 6-4 Winners Versus San Antonio
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Midland fans at Security Bank Ballpark.
A good performance from right fielder Jacob Rowley helped the Midland RockHounds defeat the San Antonio Missions, 6-4. Rowley went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the RockHounds. Dan Berry, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held San Antonio to 4 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Sergio Contreraz nailed down the save.
Ted Ruffner aided the Midland cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ruffner. "And not try to do too much."
The RockHounds raised their record to 11-19.
