Late Magic Gets Midland 5-3 Win
|
San Antonio got a decent performance from pitcher Victor Duro, but it wasn't enough to beat the Midland RockHounds. Midland won the Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium contest, 5-3. Duro threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Midland reliever Chris Ricks picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Jacob Magaw was saddled with the loss. The last-place RockHounds are 12-22.
Midland used the timely hitting of Parker Sanburn Jr. to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the RockHounds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Sanburn Jr..
