The Midland RockHounds topped the Corpus Christi Hooks, 5-3, in Texas League action at Security Bank Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Midland pitcher Jamie Dickerson. Dickerson got the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Dickerson allowed 3 runs. Midland is last in the South Division with a record of 14-24.
Linhart Springer had a big 2-run double for the RockHounds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Midland leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Steve MacInnis and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the RockHounds ahead, 5-1.
In postgame comments to the Midland Daily, Dickerson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
