The Midland RockHounds got a rain-soaked win over the Frisco RoughRiders.

Midland RockHounds starter Alex Cruz pitched a strong game against the Frisco RoughRiders at Dr. Pepper Ballpark, leading the RockHounds to victory, 6-4. Kevin Hopkins claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 2-2.

Midland used the timely hitting of John Burkett to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the RockHounds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Burkett told the Midland Observer.

Midland now has a record of 23-19 with the win.
