The Drillers faced a stiff challenge from Midland pitcher Joey Wright, but persevered to claim a win at ONEOK Field. The final score was 2-0. Wright went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Tulsa reliever David Jimenez picked up the win, raising his record to 1-3. Joey Wright was tagged with the loss. Jon Latham earned save number 2 this season.

Alex Dotto had a big solo home run for the Drillers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tulsa leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Joey Wright, who is tied for 6th in the TEX with a 9.2 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Drillers on top, 2-0.

"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Dotto said.

With the victory, the Drillers record stands at 29-19.
